Weight Lifting Routines that Work

When asked about weight lifting routines that work, I often ask the following question right back:

How serious are you about results?
Most aspiring bodybuilders and strength athletes respond that they are dead serious.

Then I watch them train. And it's obvious that they have no real ambition.

See, it's not the weight lifting routines that work, it's the people that work them.

Lou Ferrigno, for example, would be where he is today if given any workout routine. And it's not because of his superior genetics (he started out at 6'5" and 120 pounds or so). It's because of his work ethic.

On the other hand, give me virtually 95 percent of the population at 24 Hour Fitness, and I could give them the absolute best weight lifting routine known to man, and they'll fail.

Why? Because they don't work out with sufficient intensity. They're at the gym because they think they have to be, and they have the best of intentions as they walk through the gym door. However, once inside, they revert to the "social butterfly."They spend more time talking than training. Their "rest periods" are more like "days off." They use light weights, poor form, and gab between workouts.

You have to get your head on right before you can succeed in bodybuilding. You cannot cruise through this. The mind is the link between the weights and successful muscle growth. If your head isn't into muscle-building success, you will fail.

End of story. So, is it the training program that matters? Not really. Sure, you could be performing the wrong workout. But with the right attitude and work ethic, you could be given a really bad weight training prescription and still make more progress than a guy who's been given the perfect weight training routine for his goals and body type.

If his head is in the game, he'll win. But odds are, he'll just go to the gym, float through his workouts, and forget why he's really there.

Then he'll wonder why he isn't making progress.

I cannot give you the right attitude or work ethic, but I can give you the best training routines for the job. Check out Muscle-Build.com's Training Programs for more information.
