The Leading Muscle-Building Guides

Let's face it: Some of us just want a muscle-building guide that works, is easy to use, is popular with the "in" crowd, and is easy on the wallet. I have researched (and have in my possession) ALL of the top muscle-building systems available and can recommend each of the following for their effectiveness, easy reading, value, and ease on the pocketbook (compare these bodybuilding systems to buying thousands of dollars worth of books, supplements, and equipment).

In my latest review, I run through Muscle Explosion by Nick Nilsson. This is a course that you should consider if you've got a short time period in which to make substantial gains in size, strength, and fat-loss. It's highly intense, using very heavy weights for lots of reps. Nick shows you how to not only build your muscles, but also your connective tissues, one of the weak links when guys experience massive gains in strength or size.

Muscle Explosion is a must-have if you're serious about building muscle.

Jeff Anderson's Homemade Supplement Secrets is a fantastic book about nutrition, the food supplements industry, and a comprehensive "how-to" book about making your own food supplements at a fraction of popular store-bought supplements.

One of the very best muscle-building guides on the market is the one written by Jason Ferruggia of Men's Fitness magazine. It's called Muscle Gaining Secrets, and it's an opus -- a bodybuilding encyclopedia that is worth its considerable weight in gold!

Another great muscle-building system is by Jon Benson, and it is called 7 Minute Muscle. The book can be broken down into roughly 2 parts -- the muscle training part and the mind-training part.

The mind-training section of the book is worth every penny the course costs. It really is. If you read nothing but the mental parts of this book ("focus"), you will have learned a lot about how super-athletes get so much better than you. Plus, you'll be able to put to work all of your new-found knowledge in your weight training and aerobics workouts.

Another muscle-building system is by the ever-popular fitness model, Vince Delmonte. His No Nonsense Muscle Building system is very detailed, with a lot of specific bodybuilding advice. Vince also has some very good video tutorials on YouTube showing various exercises.

The "Muscle Nerd," Jeff Anderson, has a series of training books available online. One of his best is Optimum Anabolics, which is about getting your body in a growth mode by some rather unconventional means. He takes what is known about fat hoarding and applies it to protein hoarding. It is well worth the time it takes to read it, as it is scientifically-backed by a ton of facts, some well-known, some less so.

Then, there is Tom Venuoto's Burn the Fat course, which is one of the best programs out there for cutting up and getting that defined look that professional bodybuilders and fitness athletes have. This book is chock-full of excellent research science and you would be hard-pressed to find something better if you are in the hunt for a single-digit body fat percentage!

I came across REAL Man Muscle the other day and found it excitingly refreshing. The author, Zach Even-Esh, has built a program that anybody can use. All in just 15 minutes a day using ordinary makeshift equipment you can find around your house: Dumbbells, sand bags, and stones. It sounds kooky, but REAL Man Muscle takes us back to the "Good Old Days."

No Bull Bodybuilding promises just that: No BS. And it delivers. The book is loaded with training, diet, fitness, and supplementation information; you'd be lucky if you found something else better than this at twice the price!

Don't have lot of time or money for fancy equipment? For just a few dollars, you can build a "Caveman Body" by following the Caveman Guide to Fitness.

Finally, there is the "Doctor" himself, John Berardi, and his series of fitness and bodybuilding products. Two notable ebooks that he wrote and sells are Precision Nutrition and Scrawny to Brawny. Each of these books contains valuable information that has been proven time and time again to build muscle and drop body fat.

This, of course, is just a sprinkling of muscle-building guides and systems. There are literally dozens more, but these are the best "all-in-one-package" products I have found thus far.

If, however, you want a muscle-building program suited especially for a hardgainer, you can do no wrong by getting yourself a copy of my Hard Gainer's Manifesto. It is a quick read with specific instructions on how to gain weight fast, especially if you have experienced failure in the weight-gain department in the past. It also is very economically priced.
