How To Build Muscle Without Weights

Often times, when just starting out especially, aspiring strength athletes want to learn how to build muscle without weights. It's actually amazingly easy to build mass without expensive machines and weight sets.

Of course, a gym always gives you the convenience of using somebody else's expensive equipment; however, you do pay for it, just over the course of many months of membership fees.

If you want to train at home with little to no weight equipment, then you can look no farther than here. There is an analogous bodyweight exercise for every weight resistance exercise.

Pushups can substitute for bench presses.Bodyweight squats sub for barbell squats (try one-legged squats for even more effectives upper leg development).Chin ups can replace lat pulldowns.Handstand presses can be used in place of overhead presses.

The list goes on and on...

The difficulty comes as your strength and endurance increases, as it's not easy to add weight to your exercises, but it can be done, of course! There are various ways to make a push up harder.

You can do one-handed pushups. There are special weighted vests that you can wear to make yourself heavier. You can vary the angle at which you do a pushup. For example, you can elevate your feet, making the pushup harder to do. Finally, you can elevate your palms so that when you lower your body toward the floor you have to dip farther down to touch your chest.

You can always increase the number of sets and reps you do, too.

Building muscle without weights doesn't have to be hard. In fact, by using the techniques above, you can build some quite massive muscles simply by using bodyweight exercises.
